Every year, 8 million metric tons of plastic end up in our oceans. The cumulative input for 2025 would be nearly 20 times bigger. The afterlife of an unused item shouldn't always have to be on a landfill or in oceans and art has many forms to show this. Like this 3D sculpture, that could really inspire us to see things from a different perspective. So, are you ready for a cool art project?
- You're gonna create a sculpture of a whale from unused everyday items (a.k.a "trash")
- Create it as you've seen in the linked videos. It should be seen as a whale from one position a few meters away. Make it at least 1m wide
- Exhibit it in a school, university or some public institution
- Shoot a video by recording the sculpture from afar and gradually going closer to focus on the little parts as well. Take a picture from the "whale" perspective and from the closer view. Post them on Instagram.
If you don't want to keep the sculpture, please make sure to dispose of it properly
